What the system is doing, rather than what you think is wrong with it. “Silent outdoor unit” and “humming but the fan is not turning” are different failures needing different parts.
A baby, an older resident, anybody with a heart or breathing condition — mention it, and mention it early. Of everything you could tell a contractor, that is the detail most likely to move a job up the list when the whole county is calling at once. It matters more here than in most places, because on the far side of the county the alternative to being prioritized is not a shorter wait, it is a different day.
Needville, Simonton, Orchard, Beasley, Kendleton, Fairchilds and the acreage between them are a genuinely different logistical problem from Missouri City in August. Say where it is and you will get a realistic answer rather than an optimistic one.
